How Do 3Shape Communicate Updates Between Clinics and Labs Work?

When clinics and labs interact through 3Shape Communicate, they exchange order information by sending and receiving status updates through the server.

The most common workflow between a clinic and a lab is the following

tep 1: The dentist scans a TRIOS order and sends it to the lab.

3Shape Communicate portal status: Scanned sent.

The TRIOS customer can verify that the case was sent successfully by logging in to their account on the 3Shape Communicate Portal.

Step 2: The technician refreshes TRIOS Inbox in Dental System and receives the order.

3Shape Communicate portal status: Scanned received.

Step 3: The technician accepts the order in TRIOS Inbox.

3Shape Communicate portal status: Scanned approved.

Step 4: The dentist refreshes the order in the TRIOS software and can see that the lab has accepted it.

Step 5: The technician completes the design and sends it to the dentist by selecting Send update to Customer [name].

3Shape Communicate portal status: Designed approved.

Step 6: The dentist can view the design in both the TRIOS software and the 3Shape Communicate Portal.

Additional Steps When the “Request approval” Option Is Used

Step 1: If the design is incorrect, the dentist can reject it by selecting Reject in the TRIOS software.

3Shape Communicate portal status: Designed rejected.

Step 2: The technician retrieves the order updates by selecting Send and Receive for the order.

Dental Manager status: Rejected.

Step 3: The technician redesigns the order and sends the updated design to the dentist by selecting Send update to Customer [name].

3Shape Communicate portal status remains unchanged: Designed rejected.

Step 4: The dentist can view the updated design in both the TRIOS software and the 3Shape Communicate Portal. The dentist can approve the new design by selecting Approve in the TRIOS software.

3Shape Communicate portal status: Designed approved.

Step 5: The technician retrieves the order update by selecting Send and Receive for the order and can proceed with manufacturing the designed item.
