Discontinuation (End-of-life) process for TRIOS scanners and TRIOS base
19/04/20243Shape discontinued the following scanner models: TRIOS Standard (P12) and TRIOS Color (P13), TRIOS 3 Wireless Handle (S2-2) and TRIOS 3 Wired Handle (S1-2). The following scanner base models also reached their end-of-life: TRIOS Standard/Color Cart (C1.1/C1.2 & C2), TRIOS 3 Cart (C3) and TRIOS MOVE (C4).
What does the discontinuation (end-of-life) mean to TRIOS customers?
• The discontinuation policy means that TRIOS scanners and TRIOS base cannot be replaced to either new or refurbished systems anymore, but 3Shape will keep supporting and repairing them until the “End of Repair" date according to TRIOS Warranty and Out of Warranty Terms and Conditions (see the respective table below).
• Software will be compatible with the discontinued TRIOS base systems until the last "End of SW upgrades" date.
• 3Shape ended support of the systems based on Windows 7 OS in October 2022.

TRIOS MOVE

How to identify the model: by the serial number on the backside label (should look like 1CByyww303xxxB) and OS version in System Information (should be 'Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB', 'Windows 10 IoT Enterprise SAC ESD' or later).

Possible as usual, as long as Windows 10 is upgraded from Enterprise 2015 LTSB to IoT Enterprise SAC (ESD) or later. If Windows 10 is not upgraded, software update to Unite is not possible, the latest supported Dental Desktop version is 1.7.19.1. |
TRIOS 3 Cart on Windows 7
How to identify the model: by the serial number on the backside label (should look like 1CByyww302xxxB or 1CByyww303xxxB) and OS version in System Information (should be 'Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1').

The EOL policy for TRIOS 3 Cart systems which were upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 OS is exactly the same as for all TRIOS 3 Carts on Win 10.
This means that for them repairs, spare item requests and support will be available until October, 14th 2025.
TRIOS Standard/Color Cart
How to identify the model: by the serial number on the backside label (should look like RyywwxxxB, Ryyww000xxxB, Ryyww111xxxB, Ryyww120xxxB or Ryyww202xxxB).
