How to complete a TruAbutment ioConnect All-on-X case with TRIOS
12/11/2025Case example: All-on-X in lower jaw with existing provisional used for capturing occlusion
Step 1: To activate the All-on-X workflow select a bridge with 4+ implants. Mark the teeth needed for the implants and mark the remaining teeth with pontics.

Step 2: Choose the "TruAbutment ioConnect" workflow for a dedicated protocol. The workflow will require the following steps to complete.

Step 3: Scan the lower provisional following the usual scanning strategy. Make sure to scan enough gingiva so that the temporary restoration can be easily trimmed away in the next steps.

Step 4: Scan the antagonist following the usual scanning strategy.

Step 5: With the temporary restoration in the mouth, scan the buccal bite using the standard approach.

Step 6: In the HS cap scan step, the trim tool will open automatically. Trim away the provisional (image 2) from the existing scan. Place the HC scan caps (image 3) in the mouth and start scanning the HS caps ensuring that you cover the entire surface and the surrounding soft tissue.

Step 7: Insert and scan the ioConnect flags. Make sure to focus specifically on the hexagonal part of each scan body. The software will automatically remove any soft tissue for optimal results.

Step 8: Once all the ioConnect scan bodies have been scanned, and the case has been post processed you’re ready to send the case to the lab.
