"Invalid boundary" after placing cut out line in Dental Designer

"Invalid boundary" error appears when trying to proceed to the next step after placing cut out line. Frequently happening on temporaries design, where the teeth have to be removed from the scan.
Affected DS version: potentially any version.
Possible root cause: there is a gap between the teeth in the scan and the cut out lines are placed inside the gap, and Dental Designer is unable to cut out the teeth properly:
Solution
Place the cut out lines outside of the gap between the teeth as shown in the screenshot:
If there are any artifacts left on the scan after teeth removal, they can be eliminated using "Remove artifacts" tool on the "Sculpt gingiva" step:
