Resolving "Abutment Limitations Violated" Errors During Anatomical Abutment Design

This article explains how to resolve the error "Abutment limitations violated. Limitations check failed. Total height is outside range" during anatomical abutment design.

Symptoms

The following error message may appear on the "Finalize" step of anatomical abutment design: "Anatomical abutment 'X' - Abutment limitations violated. Limitations check failed. Total height is outside range"

Affected Dental System versions: any version.

Cause

This error occurs when the designed abutment exceeds the minimum or maximum height limits defined in the selected implant kit.

To reconfigure the limitation values:

Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel".

Step 2: Select "Implant Systems".

Step 3: Select the implant system and click "Edit".

Step 4: Open the "Limitations" tab.

Before making any changes to the implant kit settings, contact the implant library provider.

 

Resolution

When the limitation is exceeded, Dental Designer highlights the affected areas in red.

Modify the highlighted areas so that the abutment geometry complies with the permitted height limitations defined in the selected implant kit.
