Gingiva Assembling Types

In Full Dentures and Partial Dentures orders, the gingiva parameter includes the Assembling type setting. This parameter defines the denture assembling method and displays an illustration of the selected option.

To access the available assembling types:

Step 1: Open "Dental System Control Panel."

Step 2: Go to "Full Dentures."

Step 3: Select "Gingiva."

Starting from Dental System 2019, the following assembling types are available:

  • Monoblock – Creates a single model combining the teeth and denture base. During design, the teeth models are cut to the preparation scan.
  • Base with artificial teeth (milled reduction) – Uses pre-manufactured teeth that are glued into a denture base blank milled from the top side.
  • Base with artificial teeth (manual reduction) – Requires manual reduction of denture teeth. The output consists of a denture base with tooth pockets ready for production in castable wax.
  • Base with designed teeth – Uses custom-manufactured teeth. The output consists of a denture base with pockets for tooth blocks and the corresponding tooth block arches.

Starting from Dental System 2019, CoM, Arch, and Matrix are no longer supported as individual assembling types. Their functionality is included in Base with designed teeth.

Resolving Issues with Obsolete Assembling Types

If an order uses the CoM, Arch, or Matrix assembling type in Dental System 2019 or later, errors may occur during the design process.

For example, the following error messages may appear during the pre-manufacturing sub-step:

  • "There is no DentalInformationObject! Remodel order please"
  • "TeethModel not set".

To verify whether the selected assembling type is supported:

Step 1: Open the order form and check the selected gingiva assembling type.

Step 2: Open "Dental System Control Panel."

Step 3: Go to "Full Dentures."

Step 4: Select "Gingiva."

Step 5: Locate the assembling type used by the order.

If the assembling type is no longer supported, Dental System displays the version information indicating when support ended.

If an obsolete assembling type is being used, choose another supported gingiva assembling type for the design or contact the library provider to obtain an updated material library.
