What's New in TRIOS & Unite 25.1

We are very excited to share the upcoming software release with you. Combining the biggest TRIOS software update in the past year with new Unite & Unite Cloud features, makes your TRIOS even easier to use, with enhanced collaboration workflows and overall improved scanning experience. Read further to discover all new and improved functionalities in the new 25.1 update.

Experience high-definition scans with TRIOS 6

Our newly launched TRIOS 6 features revolutionary scan technology and AI assisted diagnostics for an enhanced patient experience. TRIOS 6 introduces HD scanning with up to 110% higher scan resolution compared to TRIOS 5, delivering exceptional detail across workflows. There are several benefits with the HD scan: 

• There is no longer a need to mark preparations to achieve a higher detail level
• Improved communication with your patient, with TRIOS 6 you scan and visualize the finer details 
• Lifelike scans support you and your lab in achieving excellent restoration fit

Optimized workflow and visual guidance for occlusion scanning

We have introduced new visuals, including icons and text across Unite and its apps to create a more intuitive and efficient user experience. Enhanced renderings and step-by-step illustrations – especially for bite scanning, make navigation clearer and scanning smoother, helping you complete tasks more efficiently and with greater understanding.

Improved orientation with new model view and dynamic zoom

The new scan model visualization introduces a clearer, more intuitive view to help you stay on track and oriented while scanning your patient. Paired with the dynamic zoom feature, you can now instantly and easily focus on areas of interest. 

Hold the scanner still in an area of interest for a few seconds to use the dynamic zoom feature.  

Responsive panel for increased focus and scanning efficiency

The new responsive left-side panel, opens and closes based on the tools you need. It automatically adapts to your workflow, helping you focus on scanning by hiding the unnecessary tools. 

To avoid distractions, the edit panel will only open once you complete a scan. 

Updated workflow order supports real-life clinical routines

Now the updated workflow introduces “Bite scan” consistently as the third step in the scanning routine, helping you build reliable habits and avoid confusion.  You can freely jump between steps as needed, supporting non-linear workflows and mid-scan adjustments. 

Note: You can easily revert to the previous scanning order steps in scan settings.

Unlock instant access to powerful scanning tools with advanced scanning features

Enable Advanced Scanning Features to instantly access Scan, AI Scan, and Zoom Scanning - all now just a tap away in the left-side panel. These tools are designed to streamline your workflow and enhance precision scanning.

Note: Zoom Scanning is distinct from the new Dynamic Zoom feature. 

'Adjust for Contacts' is now OFF by default for all users (previously ON). This feature is used to automatically correct intersections in scans where the upper and lower jaws overlap. As the bite algorithm performs optimally on its own, the default has been changed to OFF. If needed, you can still toggle it ON anytime in the left side panel under Settings. 

Screenshot and annotate with ease

A new global screenshot functionality lets you effortlessly take screenshots and use built-in annotation tools to draw, highlight, and add notes directly within Unite and all Unite-based apps. You can simply save, discard or share the screenshot with your lab or partner, when sending a case or use it to engage your patient in a dialogue. All saved screenshots and annotations will be saved in the Patient Media Library and Unite Cloud app. You can take screenshots with the camera icon in the upper right corner of the software.
 

Complete your case directly from Unite Cloud app

We have made it easier than ever to collaborate and manage your cases directly from your mobile device. You can now finalize and send your case from Unite Cloud app using these powerful features:

• Add pictures or other relevant documents to a case
• Add or edit case instructions within the app, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date
• Once all necessary information is added send to your lab in one click

Easy access to scans and media from patient journal in Unite Cloud

Patient centric access to media and media thumbnails (PDFs, images, 2D scan images etc.). Open scans directly from the Journal leveraging Unite Cloud. Availability is contingent upon the Practice Management system's implementation of new capabilities.

Easy deployment with greatly simplified set up and configuration

Simply sign-in with 3Shape Account to use integration, no other setup is required. Availability is contingent upon the Practice Management system's implementation of new capabilities.

Improved search logic to avoid duplicate patients in Unite

When you open a patient from the practice management system, 3Shape Unite automatically detects existing similar patients as candidates merging. We have improved the search logic making it easier than ever before to avoid duplicate patients in Unite. Available with all Practice Management Integrations.

Availability

The new update is compatible with all TRIOS scanners. Access to the new functionality depends on the regional availability of Unite 3rd gen (24.1) and integration with Practice Management System. 

Highlights of Unite 3rd gen (24.1)

• All scans in the cloud: TRIOS scans and patient data are stored and encrypted in the cloud.
• Access from anywhere: Scans, patient data, and licenses are available from the cloud on any device, any time. Dongles and client server installations are no longer needed.
• Unite Cloud: A brand new, cloud based mobile app and web platform. Stay up to date, add photos, comments, communicate and track case progress. GDPR and HIPAA compliant.
