3Shape Account and Dental System Profiles

Integrating 3Shape accounts into Dental System for user authentication

The integration of 3Shape Account with Dental System enables user authentication and the use of individual user profiles within the software. A 3Shape Account provides access to multiple 3Shape services, including 3Shape Communicate, Learning Hub, and the 3Shape Community.

If you already have a 3Shape Communicate account, it can be used as a Dental System user profile. Additional accounts and profiles can be created either directly in Dental System or via the corresponding website: https://identity.3shape.com/registration

Multiple 3Shape Accounts can be grouped under one organization and represent the lab. Organization management is available through the corresponding section of the 3Shape Account web portal. Please note that organizational management is only available to accounts with administrator rights. To do so you'll need to login to the 3Shape Account web portal: https://identity.3shape.com/account/login

Managing 3Shape accounts and organizational profiles

To start managing your account(s) and organization:

Step 1: login to your 3Shape Account https://identity.3shape.com/account/login:

Once you are logged in to the web portal, you can manage the accounts associated with your organization. 

Step 2: To do so, click the circle icon in the upper-left corner and navigate to the "Companies" tab.

Step 3: Click on the 3 dots next to your company or lab name and select "View". 

You will be directed to a page where you can invite other 3Shape Account users to your organization under the "Members and Teams" tab.

Dental System profiles 

Dental System profiles were introduced to align Dental System functionality with the 3Shape Account platform. You can add existing accounts or create new ones directly from within Dental System.

To add another profile, click the "Add Another Profile" button when the profile window appears (typically when opening Dental Manager). Sign in with an existing 3Shape Account and follow the on-screen instructions.

In case the user doesn't have a 3Shape Account, click on “Create 3Shape Account” and follow the instructions once the web browser takes you to the web portal.

PIN sign-in

To simplify logging in to Dental System, we have introduced a PIN code. At the end of the registration process, you will be prompted to create a six-digit PIN. Using a PIN allows you to access Dental System without having to enter your email address and password each time you start the application.

Utilizing 3Shape Communicate accounts in Dental System

You can use your 3Shape Communicate account for one profile in Dental System. While it is possible to add multiple accounts, you cannot add two accounts from the same company.

Once an account from a specific company has been added, all cases associated with that company will be received in your Dental System Communicate Inbox.

To set up additional Communicate accounts:

Step 1: go to “Dental System Control Panel”. 

Step 2: Select “Tools”. 

Step 3: Choose “3Shape Communicate” and select “3Shape Communicate Integration”:
