General information about TRIOS 6 and TRIOS 5 batteries
19/04/2024Your TRIOS 6 and TRIOS 5 scanner boxes contains three batteries. Each battery features five LED lights that indicate the charge level, each light represents approximately 20% of battery capacity. Each battery will have a protective sticker that must be removed before use. Prior to first use, fully charge the batteries to ensure optimal performance.

To quickly check battery status, simply shake or gently tap the battery and the LED lights will illuminate to show the current charge level.
When you insert a charged battery, the scanner starts automatically. A fully charged battery gives approximately up to 45 minutes of continuous scanning, this can vary depending on several factors, such as battery age, temperature, scanner software, etc.
After a few minutes of inactivity, the scanner will automatically go to sleep mode to preserve battery. Battery will last for more than 7 days in sleep mode.
Battery lifetime
- Approximately 80% after 600 cycles and 70% after 1000 cycles.
- 3Shape suggests considering battery pack replacement after 1000 cycles.

Charging
The battery charger has 2 slots. It is assumed that 2 batteries are in the charger and the 3rd one is inserted into the scanner (unless you are traveling). Also, this generation of TRIOS battery chargers has a fan to keep it cool, prevent overheating and enable faster charging.
While charging is ongoing each LED will light up one at a time. The battery status will then be shown, with each LED representing 20% battery capacity. Once battery is fully charged, you will see 5 constant lights.
It takes less than 2 hours of charging to reach 100% battery charge: 60 minutes to achieve 80% battery power and the last 20% requires approximately another 1 hour of charging.
Batteries can remain in the charger connected to a power source and will not be overcharged.
Low battery on the scanner will be indicated by a yellow LED ring.
