"Exception TPen in module ModelBuilder.exe" in ModelBuilder

In some cases there can be an error message in ModelBuilder: "Exception TPen in module ModelBuilder.exe", mostly on Preparing Model step:

Affected DS versions: any version.

Potential root causes: bad scan quality, holes/artifacts in scans, bad trimming of scans.

Possible solutions:

1. Smooth over holes and rough parts of the scan using Wax Knife tool on Prepare scans step;
2. Trim rough edges and areas with holes;
3. Fix the scan using ShapeDesigner or any similar tool (e.g. Meshmixer);
4. Rescan if possible.
