20/08/2025

Microsoft will stop supporting the Windows 10 operating system on October 14, 2025. In the following article, you can learn how to upgrade your TRIOS MOVE+ to Windows 11 starting from September 1st, 2025.

What should I know before I start?

Before upgrading your TRIOS MOVE+ to Windows 11, please make sure the following steps are completed:

  • Plug in your TRIOS MOVE+
  • Make sure your TRIOS MOVE+ has a stable internet connection
  • Ensure your TRIOS MOVE+ is running the latest version of Windows 10 (22H2)
    • Not sure how to check? Follow the steps in “How can I check my Windows version?” below
  • Make sure your TRIOS MOVE+ is running the latest version of 3Shape UNITE (24.1).
    • This version stores your data safely in the cloud. To check if you are running UNITE 24.1, follow the steps in “How can I check my UNITE version?” below
    • If you are not using UNITE with cloud access, we strongly recommend making a manual backup before continuing. The process for proper backup can be found in “How can I back up my UNITE data?” below
  • Download the Win11Update files package from XXXX (available for download from September 1st, 2025)
  • Make sure you have 1–2 hours to run the upgrade process, during which you cannot use the scanner.

How can I upgrade to Windows 11?

Step 1: Run the Upgrade File

  1. Go to your Downloads folder (or the folder where you saved the Windows 11 upgrade file)
  2. Open the folder and locate 3ShapeWinUpdater.cmd (highlighted in red below)
  3. Long-press the file (right-click if using a mouse with your TRIOS MOVE+) select Run as administrator.
  4. When prompted, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” → click “Yes”.

Step 2: Automatic Upgrade

  1. The upgrade will now run automatically.
  2. During the upgrade, you will notice:
    • Black screens
    • Restarts
    • Windows update dialogues
    • A blue screen showing “Installing Windows 11”
  3. No action is required from you — the process will complete on its own. When the upgrade is finished, the system will restart automatically. During the first restart, all TRIOS MOVE+ and 3Shape-specific settings will be automatically restored. This ensures your MOVE+ continues to perform optimally, just like before the Windows 11 update.

Step 3: All Done!

Your TRIOS MOVE+ is now fully upgraded to Windows 11 and ready for use.

NOTE: After the installation, you may need to reconnect to your preferred Wi-Fi network.
